"Travel is rebellion in it's purest form, we follow our heart. We free ourselves of lables, we lose control willingly. We love the unfamiliar, trust strangers. We only own what we can carry. We search for better questions, not answers. We truely graduate, we sometimes chose to never come back."

For the last few years I have managed to travel all over the world as a photographer, whilst working for various NGO's such as Raleigh International and The Gurkha Welfare Trust in countries such as Tanzania, Nepal and Nicaragua, documenting the wonderful work that these charities undertake in some very rural areas of these countries.
On project my main objective is to capture sensitive and characterful portraits of people from around the world. Please read of my adventures here Saraya Cortaville.
If you have a project or community venture that you would like me document please do contact me, I would love to work with you as a volunteer photographer!
The slideshow covers my time in Tanzania in 2015, working in communities on WASH projects, sustainable development and community resilience projects.
My main aim when volunteering is to capture entire ethos of the charity that I am representing, weather that be in a rural WASH project in Tanzania to an entrepreneur project in Nicaragua. I will fulfil the brief as required with a little extra personality thrown in, helping raise awareness and passion for the particular charity, and the country in which we may be based.
Here is a short film I made with Fujifilm UK in the amazing city of Marrakech in Morocco, it will give you a little idea of how I shoot !
In 2019 again I will be travelling to the inspiring country of Nepal, taking images of the Gurkha pensioners, please do contact me if you would be interested in joining me and the Photojourney team.
I look forward to hearing from you.
