I have lots of exciting new adventures planned, that I am sure you will all hear about them soon enough! And I am really looking to the year ahead with a bright outlook! 2016 was great, but 2017 is looking even more prosperous!
As a thank you to all of my wonderful clients, I am offering a wonderful chance to create some springtime portraits at the discounted rates! Starting at £75 for an hours shoot and a mounted fine art image, there are some wonderful offers that shouldn’t be missed!
I have been fortunate enough to have won many awards and accolades over the 15 years that I have been a photographer.
Most recently I have become a Fujifilm X Photographer, one of only four women in the UK to have been given this fabulous opportunity! Here is a short video, of a shoot at a wonderful place in Walthamstow London, called Gods Own Junkyard, please do take a look, it will give you an idea of how I work! 🙂 X Photographer London
In 2016, I was awarded both a Gold and Bronze award from the BIPP national photography awards, for two portfolios of work, in Portraiture and Social Documentary.
In September 2015, I was awarded my SECOND Fellowship in Social Documentary Photography, for my work in Tanzania! One of only 2 women in the UK to receive such an accolade, which was a real achievement for me.
A Fellowship is the most prestigious qualification that a professional photographer is able to achieve in portrait photography and one that very few photographers are able to realise.
One of the judges Kevin Wilson HON FBIPP, said of the panel…
“It was obvious to the assessors that saraya had been welcomed into the homes and villages to capture the timeless beautifully lit photographs of children and families.
This is a very challenging project that demanded , patience, exceptional talent and social skills, as well as an enormous amount of trust by photographer and sitter.
Only in this way would it have been possible to capture the tonal range and feeling that is so evident in the fine art photographic printing”
This particular panel was also awarded The Peter Grugeon award for the best Fellowship panel of 2015, please see a salection of these images in the slideshow.
In April 2007 I was the first ever female photographer to gain the title of Fellow of the British Institute of Professional Photographers in studio portraiture in it’s 105 year history..
Also this year I was voted The London Portrait Photographer of the Year, after a year long competition.
I have also won many awards in the National Awards for the British Institute. Saraya is now a judge at this level for both qualifications and National awards. And is a BIPP approved assessor and mentor to other aspiring photographers, if you are interested in 1-2-1 training please contact me for details.
