“Learn as if you were to live forever” Mahatma Gahndi
With 2020 fast approaching and my diary already filling fast with other commitments I thought it would be a good idea to plan ahead and set out some dates for my every popular Photography Training workshops.
I have also now introduced two further workshops especially designed for those who have already been on courses and would like to expand their photographic skills with an experienced mentor and trainer.
I have also made a few changes to the original workshops to give you a little more choice as to which one might suit you!
The popular Children’s Portraiture Workshops and the new Mastering Natural Light Workshops that I run will now each be styled to the season so each will have a Spring, Summer Autumn and Winter styled shoot. So if you are looking to expand location shoot portfolio you may want to book a few of these courses together. Each will all feature an experienced model all different for each session so as to give variety to your portfolio if you are to attend more than one shoot.
You will also at the end of each course (beginners included) now learn some basic editing techniques for your images, for example Black and white conversions, simple skin retouching and colour correction through to print.
Each delegate will then leave the workshop with a print of their favourite image taken on the day.
The two new courses are…Studio Lighting for Portraiture, and Mastering Natural Light Workshop. I have added these courses as a need from the clients who have already been to my original workshops and wanted to build on their skills.
All of the courses will now be held at the new Studio in Charlton Kings or in Cheltenham depending on the workshop. More details will be forwarded once a booking is made.
Being a portrait photographer in London I am lucky enough to go to some amazing locations to capture my beautiful children’s portraits.
Over the years I have been lucky enough to have taken some beautiful children’s portraits on a vintage double decker bus, The Cutty Sark, Gods own Junkyard, Southbank Skate park to name just a few!
Each wonderful location has been chosen by the client as a place that is important and personal to them, making their images totally unique to them.
The images below are all from a recent shoot taken in Shorditch of the gorgeous little Zoe! We started the shoot in her families amazing Butchers shop! a brilliant start to a couple of hours wondering the vibrant and colourful streets!
These next images are from another favourite of mine the grounds of the Horniman Museum with a very energetic Cooper! With the fabulous views over London we never fail to get brilliant shots here and there are so many wonderful locations to choose from!
In the coming weeks I have some special shoots booked up for Camden, Fulham Palace Gardens, Kenwood house and The British Library!
These are lovely shoots for me as I know the client has a personal connection to each of these venues making the images far more special to them.
If you and your family have a unique location that you would like to have your portraits taken please do contact me to discuss your requirements I would love to hear from you!
There are so many wonderful locations to chose from, stunning parks, bridges, famous landmarks and some really funky urban settings!
Recently I had a request from a family that I have had the pleasure of capturing for many years, to have a family portrait shoot in Shoreditch.
Ebor Street, just off Bethnal Green Road, was the place to meet!
This was a new location for me, and I am always keen to find new and interesting locations to push my work creatively.
I arrived early to scout the location, and WHAT a location! It was obviously well known to other photographers, as there seemed to be a stream of them up and down the street! Taking images of young models, children, and business portraits.
However, after a while we had the place to ourselves, and it was wonderful. The colors, the cobbled street, were just perfect for the style of clothes the family had bought along.
It really does make a difference to the shoot if clients have really thought about what they are wearing in their chosen environment.

Well I don’t want to jinx it, but I do ALWAYS seem to get very lucky with the weather on my location portraits! Saturday was no exception!
Kenwood House on Hampstead Heath was the location and when I arrived it was just glorious sunshine, the park was pretty much empty apart from a couple of dog walkers, and joggers.
I was slightly early , so I parked the camera bag on a bench and sat in the sunshine contemplating life, you can’t get better than a beautiful, spring morning in London.
The portraits I was shooting were of four cousins, ages ranged between 3 and 7, so I new it was going to be a lively one, I made the most of the peace until they arrived! 🙂
All four had their own unique personalities, which is really lovely to image, and all had a great relationship with each other, which is so lovely to capture.
The colours of the shrubs in the park were glorious and made a perfect backdrop to the portraits of the children, I will defiantly be suggesting this location for further portraits, so many wonderful places.
Here are a few of my favourites, the expressions are just priceless!
If you would like a portrait shoot anytime up until July I have some special offers running on my website, but only very limited availability. Especially for weekends.

The amazing weather and beautiful colours are just a gorgeous backdrop for some lovely portraits in London.
This weekend I met two very photogenic little ones Lielle and Ava at Kenwood House on Hampstead Heath. And what a fabulous time we had! The treelined pathways and secret gardens are perfect for our lovely morning of portraits.

One of my favourite images from the shoot is this lovely picture of the girls throwing their leaves in the air, they managed to make a very big pile! For me its just such a vibrant and energetic image, the girls expressions just make me smile, and the colours are gorgeous!
All of the images were shot on my great Fuji X-T2, and with my 2 favourite lenses, 16-55mm 2.8, and the 50-140mm 2.8, please click on the images to see the metadata details.

The GORGEOUS colours and textures of the woods, and the tree lines paths, were a lovely backdrop to some beautiful family portraits, and we had a great time walking around and taking images of the girls!
Photographing siblings is great as we will always manage to get expressions from their reactions to each other, it makes it so natural.
I just love taking images at this time of year, the light is lovely and soft, perfect for flattering portraits. and the vibrant colours of the trees just add to the whole autumnal feel of the images.
The girls dressed perfectly for the time of year, and in outfits that went very well together, this always helps with the overall look of the final images.
As a Fuji ambassador, of course, all of the images were taken with my lovely new personalised Fuji X-T2, and a mixture of fuji lenses, 16-55mm, and the 50-140mm and the 90mm prime (this was used for the head shots), please click on the individual images to see the metadata.
If you would like some portraits of you and your family at a lovely location near you, please do contact me for details. I have a few weekend slots still available, for shoots that can be ready before the Christmas cut off point, at the end of November.
It was a gorgeously sunny day at the end of summer, and such a perfect location for some portraits! The back garden, which was just amazing! And full of great little areas for some portraits of the children.
Animals everywhere just added to the fun, and make these images extremely personal to this brilliant family! x
I absolutely LOVE portrait shoots like this, they make such beautifully natural images, The children were relaxed, great in front of the lens, and eager to show you all of their things, (chickens included!)
The set of images that I have decided to share are all in monochrome, but we did take some beautiful colour images, especially as the light was so good that day!
Just before Christmas last year, I met the wonderful Evelyn and her gorgeous little sister Leonore.
The weather was chilly, so we dressed up nice and warm in our winter coats, hats and scarves, and the light was simply gorgeous, with the winter sun giving us the last light over the beautiful grounds of Kew Gardens.
The Gardens are an amazing location for a family portrait, with many different locations and areas in which to shoot some beautiful children portraits in London.
Evelyn, was only two at the time, and what a little star she was! We had great fun, walking around, chatting, and playing, and as a result we managed to capture some lovely natural portraits of the two of them.
The expressions and character are to me what makes a successful children portrait, and there was no shortage of expression with this little one as you can see….the bottom one in particular makes me smile!

Even more impressive, was that Evelyn had managed to keep it a secret from her Mummy and Daddy all the way to Christmas, as the portrait collection was to be a beautiful personalised gift for them both.
The colours and the light on the day were just spectacular for portraiture, just a lovely way to capture a family portrait in a natural environment, if you would like to capture your family in this way please do not hesitate to contact me for more details or to discuss your ideas!
