A little further afield than I would normally go for a portrait shoot, however, I love to scout out new locations and Sandy in Bedfordshire was not going to let me down!
On a bright and breezy Sunday morning, I met the boys (and mum and dad) at The Lodge an RSPB property, as they felt that as they were regular visitors, that it would be a perfect location to capture some natural and fun images where the boys would be comfortable.
It was a stunning location for portraits, and lots a lovely areas where we could take some natural and relaxed portraits of this lovely family! I especially loved the fern lined pathways and wonderful climbing trees! Just great for some fun images, that tell more of a story than the regular studio shot portraits.
We took a wide variety of shots, with all of the family together and also with the boys by themselves, to give us a wide choice of images for the family.
If you and you family have a special place where you like to spend time together, consider having your portrait shoot there! Not only will the children be familiar with the location, but you will always be guaranteed unique and special images of your family!
Recent portrait shoots have been on Hampstead Heath, Waterlow Park (Highgate), Chalkwell Beach, There Southbank, and many more around London.
Please do contact me for any further details or to discuss your particular requirements for your shoot.
A few weeks ago, I met a very cool twosome, down on the Southbank in London for some funky kids portraits!
Lola and Jon were brilliant, and the clothes and props that they had bought along for their photoshoot were just great for this wonderful location!
We got straight in and started taking images in the very cool skate park! We had arranged to meet quite early, as it was the summer holidays and we didn’t want the park to be busy!
The bright graffiti and urban feel, were just perfect for these two and their cool clothes and skate boards! And we managed to have the park all to ourselves, which was just great!
We then had a little walk around the local area to scout some more areas, for some more portraits and the Southbank is just full of them! Colourful staircases, giant hands, and beautiful murals, just an amazing backdrop for some great fun kids portraits!
The kids just loved exploring the area with me! They even managed to find two giant, and I mean GIANT slides, that they persuaded mum to take them on after the shoot!
If you fancy some unique and funky kids portraits in or around London please do contact me for details! I would love to hear from you!
A few weeks ago on a very sunny Saturday morning I met a wonderful family of three generations down on Hampstead Heath, in North London for some natural family portraits.
With the very beautiful backdrop of Kenwood house we captured some great images of this clearly very close family, with a lot of laughter and some wonderful expressions, we managed to get a wide variant of images, of the family altogether and also some of just the children!
One of my favourite images of the little ones is this one of lovely Aliya and her just amazing hair! She had such a wonderful energy about her! Always hopping about and running all around, and perfectly natural smiles and expressions! This image of her climbing along the railing outside the house just captured her spirit perfectly
The family had all co-ordniated with blue and white tones their outfits to create a lovely overall look which looked really wonderful in the soft summer light.

So it’s been awhile! A LONG while since I have posted here!
Because of all of your wonderful support I have been enjoying my time in the beautiful country of Tanzania in Eastern Africa, volunteering for the great charity Raleigh International.
It was really the experience of a life time, and I feel privileged to have been a part of the organisation for the last few months!
The projects and people were an inspiration, and I will never forget this.
The images that I took were used to document the volunteers time in this amazing country and to chart the progress that was made in the various communities that we visited.
The images were probably some of the best that I have taken in my career, as they were so out of the norm from what I generally do within my working life, and this pushed me to really think creatively and emotionally how to communicate what a wonderful experience this was for all involved.
With so many images to share here I was mainly posting onto my intsagram account which can be viewed here…
I am now back in my hometown, and starting to shoot more environmental portraiture, as this is what I am enjoying at the moment! I will now be posting further images to give you an idea of what to expect from this new move!

One very very sunny and hot Saturday afternoon I met two lovely ladies on Hadley Wood common. Just a short 5 minute walk from the studio in High Barnet.
Trying to avoid the sun most of the time we resorted to finding lovely shaded areas of the wood and common to take some fabulous portraits of the two girls and the whole family! The pink flowers really do set off some striking images!
A great location with a wide variety of opportunity for great backdrops and wonderful textures, the portraits really are some of my favourites from this year! And just around the corner!
If you would like some location portraits please do contact the studio for more details!
Especially if you have a particular location in mind that may be significant to you or your family! These can make the portraits that much more personal to you!
Over the last two years I have managed to venture away from the studio in Barnet to take some beautiful portraits in London, and The South East.
I have spent some Great days in Greenwich, Brilliant days in Battersea Park, and wonderful days on Wimbledon Common! And many other inspiring locations in and around London. No matter what the weather, I have always managed to create some beautiful portraits including this wonderful landscape of ours.
If you are interested in having a lovely location portrait of your children or family, please do contact me for details of these very personalised shoots!
Picking the location will be the first step, we then will talk about the sort of styling that you would like for your shoot, where we will consider clothing and props, this will all happen before the shoot over the phone or via e-mail.
The shoots generally last for an hour, and are either in the morning or afternoon (please consider when your children will be at their best, with younger ones this will generally be in the morning!)!) and within this time we will walk around our chosen location, taking some beautiful images as we go!
The following portraits were all taken over the last year and in London or the South East. If you would like to see some more examples of these images please visit my location portfolio.
