Yesterday, we ran our second very successful kids portraiture workshop, in beautiful Leigh-on-Sea in Essex.
Our base was The Fishermans chapel, a beautiful methodist church full of history, a perfect place for our budding photographers to get aquainted over a cup of coffee!
We started the day with a short introduction, and a brief run down of what was going to happen throughout the day. We then had a slideshow of some of our location portrait work to inspire the delegates!
Saraya ran through the processes she goes through, in preparing for a shoot, paying particular attention to, equipment, styling, scouting suitable locations, seeing the light!
Paul was then at hand to discuss more of the technical aspects of location portraiture!
After a quick break, our wonderful model, Lizzie arrived, as the model for our previous childs photography course, she was very comfortable and at ease in front of the camera, a true little pro already even at the tender age of FIVE!!
The delegates really enjoyed being able to put their new learnt skills into practice with a model, especially one who was so beautiful! Enabling them to gain some great experience with photographing children, and confidence in their abilities to do this with their own children, or in their own business!
After 2 hours with our model, everybody was ready for a spot of lunch so we headed back to the Chapel, we then downloaded some of the delegates images for a short positive critique, with both Paul and Saraya giving guidance on where the images had been successful, and with some how to possibly improve for future shoots.
Our next Childrens portraiture course will be running on the 1st of November! The course will have the same structure, which has proved very successful with all who have attended! Saying they all now felt that they had the skills, to develop their portraiture skills!
